Applying Adomian Decomposition Method to Solve Burgess Equation with a Non-linear Source

چکیده
In the present work we consider the mathematical model that describes brain tumour growth (glioblastomas) under medical treatment. Based on the medical study presented by R. Stupp et al. (New Engl Journal of Med 352: 987996, 2005) which evidence that, combined therapies such as, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, produces negative tumour-growth, and using the mathematical model of P. K. Burgess et al. (J Neuropath and Exp Neur 56: 704713, 1997) as an starting point, we present a model for tumour growth under medical treatment represented by a non-linear partial differential equation that is solved using the Adomian Decomposition Method (ADM). It is also shown that the non-linear term efficiently models the effects of the combined therapies. By means of a proper use of parameters, this model could be used for calculating doses in radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Numerical solution of the one dimensional non-linear Burgers equation using the Adomian decomposition method and the comparison between the modified Local Crank-Nicolson method and the VIM exact solution
The Burgers’ equation is a simplified form of the Navier-Stokes equations that very well represents their non-linear features. In this paper, numerical methods of the Adomian decomposition and the Modified Crank – Nicholson, used for solving the one-dimensional Burgers’ equation, have been compared. These numerical methods have also been compared with the analytical method. In contrast to...
متن کاملA Comparison Between Fourier Transform Adomian Decomposition Method and Homotopy Perturbation ethod for Linear and Non-Linear Newell-Whitehead-Segel Equations
In this paper, a comparison among the hybrid of Fourier Transform and AdomianDecomposition Method (FTADM) and Homotopy Perturbation Method (HPM) is investigated. The linear and non-linear Newell-Whitehead-Segel (NWS) equations are solved and the results arecompared with the exact solution. The comparison reveals that for the same number of componentsof recursive sequences, the error of FTADM is ...
متن کاملSOLUTION OF FUZZY DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS UNDER GENERALIZED DIFFERENTIABILITY BY ADOMIAN DECOMPOSITION METHOD
Adomian decomposition method has been applied to solve many functional equations so far. In this article, we have used this method to solve the fuzzy differential equation under generalized differentiability. We interpret a fuzzy differential equation by using the strongly generalized differentiability. Also one concrete application for ordinary fuzzy differential equation with fuzzy input data...
متن کاملAdomian Decomposition Method On Nonlinear Singular Cauchy Problem of Euler-Poisson- Darbuox equation
n this paper, we apply Picard’s Iteration Method followed by Adomian Decomposition Method to solve a nonlinear Singular Cauchy Problem of Euler- Poisson- Darboux Equation. The solution of the problem is much simplified and shorter to arriving at the solution as compared to the technique applied by Carroll and Showalter (1976)in the solution of Singular Cauchy Problem.
متن کاملA new algorithm for solving Van der Pol equation based on piecewise spectral Adomian decomposition method
In this article, a new method is introduced to give approximate solution to Van der Pol equation. The proposed method is based on the combination of two different methods, the spectral Adomian decomposition method (SADM) and piecewise method, called the piecewise Adomian decomposition method (PSADM). The numerical results obtained from the proposed method show that this method is an...
